Songs Transfer iPhone to iMac: WAS iPhone Photos to MMe

Okay, mission accomplished today with your advice and iPhoto (iPhone 3GS to iMac to MMe). Now he has another one I need to ask about.
My same partner (smart physician, good with stocks, just learning Macs) loaded hundreds of songs from CD's successfully onto iTunes of his home iMac. Then, he copied/synced those from that iMac onto his 3GS where they now reside in the iPod app. THEN, (almost done now.......) that iMac declined into "gray screen only" on startup (which we will address this weekend), and he needs to load the saved songs from his 3GS to iTunes on another functioning iMac. He's running iTunes 10 on the newer, functioning iMac, but we weren't able to find a reference at Apple Support that was successful to tell us how to accomplish this transfer. We connected his 3GS and authorized the good iMac, but the "Transfer Dr. M's Songs to iTunes" or "Import to Library" did not work. What do you recommend?
Thanks,
Dick
