I think it is probably a great upgrade - wood is an ancient material, but has the very desirable quality that it won't shatter like glass!

I'm picking up my new car today & it has sync so I can answer phone calls thru my car sound system. Does this mean the iPod function on the iphone will work wirelessly also? I'm getting Sirius radio for a few months. I looked but didn't find an app for schedules. Is there one out there?

Thanks!

No, iPod doesn't work that way but there are some applications using which you can stream via bluetooth.

I use FM transmitter to play songs from the iPhone.

Yes you should be able to play your music wirelessly as well. When setting it up there should be that option. To play music wirelessly. I know on my ford fusion it was.

What kind if car are you getting? On my car (Lexus HS250) the Bluetooth works separately from the iPod functionality. There is a USB port to plug the phone into, but when I do that it thinks my phone is a simple iPod. To get the full iPhone iPod app (plus other apps that have sound) to work properly, I connect a speaker cable into my iPhone and into the car dashboard.

Leti

I got a 2011 Mercury Mariner. It has a round hole as a Ipod connector plus a USB connection meant for a flash drive. I need to read thru the Sync booklet. The car salesman didn't think the iPod function would work thru Bluetooth, nor was he sure whether the round iPod connection also recharges the cell phone.

I'm tempted to spend $30 for a new 16G flash drive so I can listen to songs & not worry about depleting my cell phone battery.

Inpic & GoldenOne, thanks for answering also.

Doesn't Ford Sync have an iPod cable? (I know it's from Microsoft,
but still...) Or at least the stereo have an aux-in jack?

I would try disconnecting and re-plugging your iPhone from USB.

That usually help me.

There is a way to delete all your custom spelling words, by going to the settings>general>reset> reset keyboard dictionary. This will dellete ALL words you have typed on the keyboard and set back to factory defaults.

Just downloaded the free app called Tango Video Calls for iphone and will hopefully get a chance to test it soon and report back.

Here is an interesting review that gives the highlights of this app, which might be a good one to have. It is currently free app in app store.

I had a message a few days ago from Yahoo that said one of their servers was
glitched and they had a large backlog of messages. They said that they would
continue to send them out until they got caught up.

I have my entire family on MobileMe. I can log in and add appointments to their calendars, or see if they have something on theirs I need to add to mine.
All changes get pushed to their iPhones/iTouches.

Xmarks now has a pledge page to see if they can get users to pledge a $10
per year fee in order to keep Xmarks. It is a marvelous add-on, I hope they
are not doing this too late to save it.

Yes - I signed the pledge, along with LastPass it is well worth $1 a month
(or $10/year).

In the meantime, anyone with access to MobileMe or a decent hosting account
(that supports WebDav folder access) can create their own XMarks server.
Unfortunately, only the most recent version of the Firefox Addon supports
using your own server so using it for all browsers doesn't work but at least
I can continue using it in Firefox across all machines and is far more
reliable than the "Firefox Sync" that is part of Firefox 4.0 (in beta) and
available as an add-on for Firefox 3.6.x

Converting iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 videos to AVI

Posted by: "Darrin J. Calcutt" dcalcutt@rogers.com   dcalcutt2000

Sat Oct 2, 2010 8:08 pm (PDT)

Gentelmen,

I had an iPhone 3gs and now have a iPhone 4.

The MOV videos with the iPhone 4, I use OJOsoft Total Video Converter to convert the videos to AVI using MJPEG conpression.
My Canon camera makes MOV files too. Thou it cam with software that converts the video to AVI with MJPEG compression. This software is called ZoomBrowser EX.

The ZoomBrowser EX will not convert the video from either the iPhone 4 or the iPhone 3GS properly. Missing audio us usually the problem.

I cannot get video from my iPhone 3GS to be coverted properly. Both iPhones are running 4.1 firmware.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Darrin
