Thanks for the heads up. *I* am using a band by Pixopop.

Pixopop's bands are elastic, and are actually comfortable.

AFAIK, Pixopop are available online at their site, 19$ ea.
On eBay, they are cheaper.
<http://shop.ebay.com/pixopop/m.html>

Or get to a FOSSIL store, get one of their cloth 22mm watchbands and clip your nano touch to that. they are $20.00

It's the cheapest, chintziest watchband I've ever seen. It's unfinished leather on the inside and frankly looks as though it were made of cardboard. It reminds me of those terrible belts they sell to women for their dresses.

Do you have some kind of case or screen protector which is covering the sensors
on the front? I experienced this a lot when I had a silicone case on my phone
which moved during the course of my conversation. Once I switched cases, it
fixed my problem.

The seconds are miniscule, but I couldn't stand still being connected sometimes
for a longer than acceptable time.

Hi all:

I have a 3GS running iOS 4.1 and have noted that when I conclude a phone call
and take the phone away from my face the screen turns black and it takes several
seconds to come back to life. Meanwhile the call is still "connected" and I am
consuming seconds of airtime.

Is this common?

Thanks,

Yes, the screen goes blank when you have the phone to your head, otherwise you would be face dialing or worse. That is the purpose of the proximity sensor.

Using seconds, possibly, depends on the call if you have to hang up or not. But not to worry, you are billed by minutes if you are with AT&T, so a second or two don't matter.

Pam;
I know the oil is your fault, that's my point. Since it's not under warranty that's why the $100.00 exchange "fee". Call your local Apple store. My son broke his glass so his was his fault too but he was able to exchange it For the fee.

I would take it into an Apple store and tell them what happened and ask them if they can help you. Honesty with them is the best way to approach them in this case.

If you have a iPhone 4, you have a micro SIM card, the original had a regular SIM card. You will need to get a new SIM card to fit the old phone, if Apple is not feeling generous.

Last time I used AT&T, SIM cards were physically interchangeable, that
is the entire point of them. How will it not fit?

The iPhone 4 uses a microSIM. The older ones used miniSIM.

I think the biggest price variation for a current Apple product I have seen since 1998 has been $20.

If you want a big price drop, look at the last model, when a new one is released in the online Apple Store. The second best pricing is Apple refurbished from Apple, same 1-year warranty with maybe some tiny cosmetic flaws. Good online retailers like Small Dogs also have good refurbished prices.

But don't expect any price wares on new Apple items.

There was a report on yesterday's news here in Atlanta (the FOX
affiliate) that the iPad was going to be this year's "hot Christmas
gift," and would, therefore, become difficult to find for the Christmas
season.

The piece, by the station's "technogeek" believed those retail outlets
which carry the iPad (Target and Best Buy) were going to be allowed by
Apple to use the iPad as a "Black Friday" loss leader, slashing the
price for that one day to a couple of hundred bucks. He had some
documentation to back up his claims, but was mainly reporting from his
"gut feeling" based on Christmas sales seasons of the past.

On Monday, I purchased my iPad - 64GB, WiFi+3G, and I gotta tell you...
I love it. We're going to Boston and New York in 12 days (marriage and
mini-honeymoon); I'm going to throw some movies on my iPad, watch them
on the flight(s) and the train from Boston to NYC. To heck with the
"turning leaves" and watching rustic scenery; I'll be enjoying the "Live
from Lincoln Center" presentation PBS aired a couple of months ago of
the final performance of "Rogers' and Hammerstein's South Pacific." In
HD, no less.

Wow, sounds like I better start keeping an eye on what's going to be out
there on Black Friday. I am signed up for several sites that are supposed to
tell you what is going to be sold in advance, so I will be paying attention.
Thanks for the info on that too! If I don't get him one for Christmas just
because it was a good buy, I am going to wait until the new model comes out.

If it happens it'll be like the stampedes of a few years ago when
DVD-players were going for $29 -- but there were very few of them actually
available & people camped out all night to try to get one.

*IF* I were of a mind to get up at dawn that day, I'd consider ambling up
the street to the local BB to watch the shenanigans from across the street.

Photos don't sync like apps do. Rather, with phone attached to your Mac, you import them to iPhoto. In iPhoto, you can make an album called "iPhone" or whatever. The subset of photos you put in there can be made to sync back onto your iPhone. Before I figured this out (that photos don't sync from iPhone onto computer), I lost some photos that I had not imported onto Mac.

syncing iPhone to iTunes for only music

I want to copy music from my home PC onto my iPhone without syncing them via cable, because as soon as I plug my iPhone (it is not synced to the PC regularly), it begins to sync and I don't want everything on the iPhone to sync to this PC. Is there any other way to share music from a PC you're not physically synced to? I have a wireless router but I can't see where the iTunes music resides on that PC. I can see some. but not all. Ideas?

Bill S., I think I forgot Quickoffice.

And to update DataViz and Docs2Go.

"On 8 September 2010, they sold their office suite Documents To Go and other assets to Research In Motion for $50 million." from Wikipedia.

For more see this article on PCWorld.com, http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/205025/rim_buys_documents_to_go_but_microsoft_missed_out.html?tk=hp_new

And while I was looking around the DataViz site, their server shut down. There was nothing on their home page, product page or news page. The site went down before I could check the company page.

Oh! Its back. Yeap, nothing on their site about the buy our or any clue if they will continue to support the existing products and platforms, or port over to any of the platforms they have been promising for a long time.

So I took a look at DataViz's Facebook page. Still no news of any change, and they have not posted anything new since 14 September.

They have done a great job keeping their customers informed, especially since their customers have been begging for information about updates.

I just learned of this. Someone asked why I was mad at DataViz, and this just confirms my reasons.
