Saving maps

I am using iPhone 4 and out of my home country.
I am on international roaming for voice but
have disabled my data due to cost considerations.
In a cafe, I use public wifi for mail down and
upload. if I see a map, it vanishes when I
leave the cafe. How do I save it so that I
can still monitor my progress by GPS which
works in any case?

you can "cache" maps and later use them in MotionXGPS. A great app.

I don't think you can save the maps on the native app, which is Google Maps. But there are apps, for a price, you can download that have built-in maps and work offline, like NDrive, Papago, etc. Search map or GPS in the app store.

Since most people do not have constant crashing of Apps while running 4.1, perhaps your problem is something other than the iOS version.

Beter yet, maybe it will put carrier file back to before iOS4.1. My phone performance has really suffered.

Jean,
Sorry all out of ideas unless you want to try resetting the phone to
factory settings and then restoring from the backup. If you are near
an Apple Store I would take it by a Genius.
Good luck,
Jay

Adding Picture to Facebook Mobile

on my iPhone, I can't seem to add pictures to the Facebook Mobile app from
my Photos Camera Roll. Did Facebook drop this feature? I know I did this
before the last upgrade. When I go under the Photos section in the Facebook
App, all I can do is create an Album and not add any pictures.
Am I missing something?

You can do it from facebook...like you are updating your status. Touch the picture icon, and then select, choose from library.

Actually, I am in the same boat as Mark. Before the upgrade, I could pick which album to load the picture to (so if it was of my dog, I could put it in the "Georgie" file). Now, I just upload the picture, and it only goes to the Mobile Upload album... you can't choose where it is placed.

iphone 3gs would not go past apple logo!
Posted by: "DanielleK" d.kinler@yahoo.com d.kinler

My boyfriend has a 3gs and last night it died. When he plugged it up this morning, it took it 1 1/2 hours for it charge enough to come on, once it came on it got hung up at the apple logo. I actually work for a cell phone repair company and we have seen this a lot lately, I'm just wondering if anyone knows what is causing this to happen. I had to do a hard reset on it 3 times to get it to go past the apple logo......very frustrating, he hates his iPhone it doesn't get good service at all and now he's ticked about this. He said he would give anything to have the old bar style Nokia back, at least it worked like it was suppose too. Anyhow I'm just looking for more information on this whole apple logo screen!
Thanks,
Danielle
