Re: [apple-iphone] verbal directions other than ATT navigator

I bought NDrive
USA<http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ndrive-usa/id372001419?mt=8>,
which is 'on sale' for only $3 for the first million buyers or some such.
It downloads complete US map data to the tune of about 1.5GB and puts it on
your phone. It provides voice prompts with a variety of voices.

For the most part, I like it. One thing that needs to be tweaked is how it
prompts you for the direction of the next turn. It says, "Turn Left" to let
you know, even if it's half a mile until that turn. It tells you again when
you are getting close, and provides a visual cue with distance on the
iphone.

For $3, you get maps with voice prompts, and you don't have to be connected
to get the map data. Doesn't seem to have much in the way of POI (points of
interest), but I figure I can switch over to Google Maps if I need to look
for a particular store, gas, or the like. (assuming I have data access, of
course)
