Re: [apple-iphone] coverage -tethering
Morgan, Jim beat me to the punch about the app, but let me add to that. The app gives them much better information than a "usual dead zone around Clybourn Ave" and "another around Mt Prospect, IL". I'm sure it gives them a GPS location and tower IDs if it can.
You may not be able to use Mark the Spot while in tethered mode, but since they are repetitive dead zones, you know when to switch to cell phone mode, and ID and notify AT&T. The sooner that this gets done a couple of times, the sooner it can get fixed. They might possible not have a tower knowing that it is a train route (I doubt it, but...) and moving cellular connections are more difficult. Heck, I have problems keeping voice connection sometimes in Metro Portland, while driving.
I'm glad to see several of you are getting download speeds 2-2.5 times faster than I am getting. It means they really are working on the network.

We have at&t stores about 3-4 blocks in a few directions from our building. If the problem doesn't get resolved, I might call and complain. Once I did that and they sent someone out because they said we had a tower or something close by and it should be working better.
