Re: [apple-iphone] Help needed installing iTunes 9.2 so I can use my iPhone 4

From Apple's website for the iPhone:

What is (are?) AMDS? In 12 years of Mac, and 9 years of OS X, I've never heard that term.
Google is not helpful here.

My approach:
1. Safe Boot
2. Log in (rather than restart) form the Safe Boot screen.
3. Run Repair Permissions.
4. Run Software Update.
When everything completes, reboot/restart.
