Jim, I agree with you, most of it is FUD.

Glass is a funny animal, and to break it from the surface, you have to pretty much crush it. But from the edge, it does not take much to get between the crystals and get a crack to run.

And the edge is a pretty small target. I think iFixIt did a big disservice to Apple by making that video. It is a given, glass will break if hit properly. Look, that is how they cut diamonds, hit it properly. Duh!

Zagg for the body, great idea, but the screen, not needed. Why you can't use a normal stylist, you use your finger. and don't use a diamond ring!

I climb around heavy equipment for work. In a year with a iPhone 3GS I have not broken it, scratched it or even dropped it. And the 4 prior years with a Treo 650, yes, I have dropped it, and worn the silver paint off the plastic, but even using a pen, not a stylist on the screen, the screen does not have a mark on it. There are a few dings when it hit on the corner and the grit on the asphalt scratched the plastic. A little TLC goes a long ways. Like not stuffing it in your pocket with serrated pieces of metal, commonly called keys and coins. Common on, do you run your keys or a quarter down the sides of your car?
