My data usage on my iPhone is kind of a circular thing. Here in
Indianapolis, the network is so painfully slow as to be all but useless.
Looking up something on the Internet, i.e. trying to access a site on
Safari, is functionally worthless -- if I'm at a grocery store, say, and
wanting to look up the nearest Starbucks, it's faster for me to go up to the
front, check out, go to the customer services desk and look it up in the
phone book than to do it on my iPhone. Consequently my data usage is pretty
low (my highest in the past six months was 8mb) and I'll actually save money
under the new plan. To me, that's kind of bitterly ironic -- they institute
this to try to ease the strain on the network, and it's actually of benefit
to me only because the network is already so crappy that I rarely use it.
