Hello, I made coment earlier about the requirement of DATA PLAN and so I just called At&t and confirmed, YES you need a data plan with any smart phone, this includes iPhone... they have cheaper plans now... but still need data plan

How did he get the phone -- did he pay full price for it maybe?
And if he cancels the data plan will he still be able to use the phone?
