I tried to post this yestserday but someone lost it, so here I go again..

I plan to sell my 3G but iOS4 has it's problems with the 3G, I would like to leave it at iOS 3.1.3 but I need to whipe my info from it.

Is there a way to set it up as a "new" phone but not up date to the latest iOS (4.0.1)?
Has anyone done this?
