As others have said you don't lose your music when changing phones. Your
music is stored in iTunes on your PC or MAC. I always keep iTunes backed up
(on an external drive and online). As far as upgrading my phone goes I
passed on the last upgrade because I felt there wasn't a compelling reason
for me to go from the 3G to the 3GS. Maybe the next upgrade will offer
more. If so, I'll do my upgrade then.
