Thanks for the input. It turns out to be an issue with my card. It's fine now.

I got a message that said I was trying to access iTune with a new compute and that I needed to update/verify my payment information. The only "missing" information was the 3 digit security code from the back of Credit card. When I entered the number from the back of the card iTunes tells me it is the wrong number. Not possible since I'm looking at the back of the card. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this happen.

I have turned the phone off and back on many times, and eventually tried hitting "reset" within the settings, which reset all of my preferences, etc. It is still spinning in the mailbox app, saying "downloading 1 of 1" with the download bar all the way full.

This is more of a nuisance than a problem. I just wish it would go away!!!

Thanks for all of the suggestions, everyone.

For all of you that are having endless downloading, in the Mail, Contacts, Calendar settings, how do you have the following set?

Show? 25, 50 or 200 emails?
Preview? None to 5 lines?
Organize by Thread? on or off?

And is it a IMAP or POP account you are having problems with?

Threading has been an issue in the iOS Mail app. Turning off threading gets rid of posts that are improperly started and thread. These appear as NO Sender, NO Subject, and No Message. Turning off Threading reveals all of the above.

If you notice, it seems that only those of you with gmail or yahoo accounts are having problems.

SMS City billing alert

I recently noticed that my AT&T wireless bill showed a monthly charge of $21.19 (including tax). I didn't remember subscribing to any thing like this. In response, AT&T said it was a third party charge, they looked into it and then offered to cancel the billing and refund both months that I had been charged. AT&T was really responsive on this. Just wanted to remind you all to carefully review your account statements.

Also on occasion I find AT&T adding features on me that I didn't ask for. So I have to call to cancel them for a refund.

Hrm, the only time this ever happened was when I put a SIM card from a
non-iPhone line into an iPhone for an afternoon (when I was waiting on my 4
and my 3GS had been switched I used another line on our account's SIM until
it was delivered) and they added a data plan so I had to call have it
removed and give them the IMEI, S/N, etc from the 'plain' phone on that
line....

Yes, I found the same thing on mine and have no idea where it came from but they refunded it kindly enough.

Who was the third party, and why were they able to add a re-occuring charge to your bill? AT&T should be able to identify it for you.

Scramble CE - very slow

Any one use Scramble CE by Zynga?  When I select Challenge and go to the
page that lists previous and pending games, my iPhone4 starts the white
spinning wheel and then is busy for upwards of a minute.  This happens
virtually all the time with my and my wife's phones.  It didn't use to be
that way.  We do have a lot of 'old' games listed and we're thinking this is
a problem with the Zynga server.  We don't know how to delete this unneeded
history, if that is the cause.

We have deleted the Scramble game from iTunes and our iPhones, then
redownloaded it and reinstalled it.

No difference.

I posted a question at the Zynga user forum but it's not very active and no
one responded.

We like the game but this 1 min. wait is a real turn-off.

TIA!

David

I dont know the game, but on words with friends you just swipe on the name of the finished game and you can delete. Just like deleting email.

otterbox

Well, headed to Florida for three weeks on vacation so I guess its time for the Otterbox defender. It's going to be really hard giving up the Mophie juice plus but I think I'll get better protection on the beach with the defender.

Can anyone tell me if the defender works well against the sand getting to all the areas of the iPhone 4?

Thanks

Allan

Great. I used to use my Otterbox all the time then I got the Mophie juice plus and haven't used it since.

This email was beamed to you by way of Allan's iPhone 4 

Re: Airport router vs Cisco Valet

A follow up as the OP of this thread. For one reason or another, I decided
to go with the Cisco Valet router and have to say it could not have been
easier to set it up with my iMac, a laptop, wireless printer, iPhone and 3
TiVos. My network was up and running within 30 minutes and download speeds
are just zipping along.

I also have to say my timing was perfect! The new router arrived just hours
before my old router gave up and died on me!

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, recommendations and comments.
