It's like a wifi router. You can now connect other devices like a laptop or iPad to the Internet.

Yeah, worked last night once I plugged in iTunes pushed a carrier update
from AT&T that turned it off - is where "Tethering" is in 4.1/4.2 but now
has "Hotspot" and when you turn it on says you are not subscribed to this
feature, call AT&T or visit the Web Site so it will be the same thing as
Tethering is now just changing it from Bluetooth / USB to WiFi/Bluetooth/USB
- I'll post some screen shots later.

Make sure you don't have a sync connection with both your Mac (On My Mac) and MobileMe. If both are on, you will get duplicates on your calendar. One from the desktop when you initiate a wired sync and another wirelessly with MobileMe. This is not a bug, it's the result of asking the system to sync with two sources.

Upgrade Without Plan Change?

I have a 2+ year-old 3G on an unlimited plan, and I wondered if there is any way to upgrade the handset without changing the plan. Any ideas? TIA.

I have upgraded iPhone every time a one has come out and never had to change
plans. Since you have the 3g, you may have the 200 free SMS per month. SMS
is not included with the new handset so you will have to ad a plan for that.
Call 611 on your iPhone and talk to a sales rep. The call is free.

I did not realize that there was a DateBK for Android. Both the iPhone and

so famous for. I just do not know why he never pursued one for the iPhone.

Additional new features of iOS 4.3 keep rolling in. Noteworthy is a new
font in the iPad Notes. Also, you now have the option to play alerts
from one to 10 times (below).

Other little tidbits of interest: Some people are reporting SMStones
that don't turn off, Skype broken for some, New sound when taking
screenshot, New FaceTime icons in the recent calls list, Apparently
different vibrates for SMS and email now, App store updates function
appears broken, speaker sounds different. Did we miss anything?

Hi Sue,

iPod is on wifi network. Your grandson should be able to access on the internet as long as there is wifi connection. No data plan needed.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
