I dunno about the phones, but I recently had to restore my old Nano & had no
trouble -- I just did a restore, OKd the offer to install newer OS from what
it came from the factory with (that had been on it pre-collapse anyway) and
it re-synced back everything from the last sync/backup I'd done.
