What is edge? Edge is " digital edge"
I am told it was the first data network.
Here in dfw area if you can't get 3g you get edge . It's about the same for email and some apps but for websites with graphics and any video it's slow.
It will automatically switch to 3 g if your in the right spot.
To turn 3 g off you do that in settings/ network. That will save battery life as will brightness. Search apps for battery and the first one that should pop up is battery life that says free for a limited time. You can select your phone model and tells you % charge you have and estimated time for different uses. I really like it, of course anything is better than the tiny icon. Mike
