[apple-iphone] Re: Thoughts on the new iPad
I personally don't have any use for the iPad. I love my MacBook Pro and my iPhone, however that doesn't mean that I don't see potential for a product of this kind.
The iPad is the perfect tool for the classroom. They can be personalized for each school, each grade, each kid. Apps could be developed (if they haven't already) for children to take notes or do math drills (my son uses my iPhone for this). Text books and educational video could be loaded on to them; imagine the lightness of your child's backpack :)
As for the marketing implications, kid's love video games and electronic gadgets. iPad could make a child's school life a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience. The child that is exposed to a product that is useful and enjoyable early in life will grow up to be a life-long customer.
Bravo Apple!
