The Reader

Hold your finger on the screen near the word in question untill you get the magnifying glass, then move the curser ( with that same finger ) next to the wrong letter. Then use the backspace to delete the wrong letter, type the correct letter. Then tap at the place where you want to continue typing. This works everywhere.
