I've got itunes 10 already and I believe one of the things I tried was the
 restarting in DFU mode.  I'll try again.

 I got the same error code.  I figured out that it was because I had not
 updated to iTunes 10.  Once I did that and restarted my computer, it went on
 without a hitch.
