Tonight I was playing with my dog at the pool. It was "Drool in the Pool" night - all dogs got to play before the pool is emptied for the season and shut down.

Mid-way through the evening a large Great Dane came running up and spun me around... knocking my iPhone out of my hands and letting it come down hard on the concrete. I picked it up, praying for good things, but no... shattered crystal.

I've had my iPhone since July 2009, so I am eligible for an upgrade. I contacted customer service (the phone still works) and they said I could get a new 3GS for $99, or an iPhone 4 for $199. I called the closest Apple store (90 minutes away), and they said they could probably fix the crystal... for about $99.

So, I'm looking for options and suggestions of what I should do.

* Get a new 3GS for $99?
* Get an iPhone 4 for $199?
* Replace the crystal and wait until next year to upgrade?
* Suck it up and deal with the broken crystal as long as possible?
* Break out the glass, treat it nice, and see what happens?

Any thoughts are appreciated...
