Re: [apple-iphone] How to block a number on iPhone?
I must have missed this original message on how to block unwanted callers. I have had a nuisance caller. When I checked the number on the internet I found out that this site is calling many cell phones all over. It originates in Trenton and has had many reports of this phone being misused. I just do not know with all the scam reports and nuisance, fraud,
The number for everyone here to note as it seems to be hitting everyone is 1-731-200-8989 Trenton, TN
Anyway, how do I get rid of this caller?

I beg to differ... Not being able to block a number is a function of iPhone! I've had AT&T service for some 18 years now, and every smartphone I've had previous to the iPhone has allowed me to block a number from the phone itself. Nokia, motorola, palm etc. I was in utter shock when I moved to the iPhone and found I could not. Check the archives for my messages in July of 2009 for my shock and amazement.
I too just set the offenders up to be a "Do Not Answer" contact, with a "no ringtone" ringtone. I don't want to pay AT&T 4.99 extra a month for them to block the number, none of their other phones require it. That is just a way for AT&T to futher separate iPhone users from their money.

its a function of AT&t not the iPhone... you can as I do, save the number as a contact with a name of "DO NOT ANSWER"

I have the need to block several numbers from repeatedly calling my phone. Any suggestions on how to do this is greatly appreciated.
