Actually, Yahoo obfuscates the email addresses. For example, instead of seeing the full address,
you see only COOOLKITTY@... . However, the full names of people who post to the group are exposed.

Personally it doesn't matter to me if the archives are exposed to the world or just to members.
Since membership to this group is "open" -- i.e., approval is not required to join -- *anybody* can
join the group in just a few seconds and become a member anyway. Not much different from exposing
the archives to the public.
