Re: [apple-iphone] Restoring iPhone

I was just getting ready to restore my iPhone when I thought about my text messages.
Do I lose them?

If so....is there a way to save them?

Tks!

I had a more or less similar situation and was reluctant to reset it

but it turns out to be easy. You situation may be different -- mine

is synced with ical and the rest of the Apple software suite, via

iTunes.

The easy way is through iTunes. Plug the phone in and click Restore.

It will blow away what's in the phone and restore everything you sync

through iTunes. This should preserve everything, including all

settings.

It is possible the problem will remain, in which case you will have

to reset without restoring from backup, making the phone empty, like

when it was new. I would do this through the phone's Preferences >

General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Then sync just calendar,

addresses, etc.

You will likely have to re-register and redo preferences for some

apps (e.g. login to apps that formerly remembered your login) but no

big deal.
