TRUTH OF THE WITHDRAWL OF TAX AUDIT BY STATE BANK OF INDIA

 

 

Dear Members,

                        As per my information The Major reason behind the withdrawal of tax audit by SBI is that the income tax department had imposed a penalty of Rs 38/- crores on State Bank Of India due to non compliance of TDS.

 

 After the penalty was imposed by the Income tax department State Bank Of India again went through the tax audit reports their they found some serious mistakes. So they came to the conclusion that some branch auditors did not conduct the tax audit properly.

 

In that situation the top level authority of State Bank of India felt very embarrassed & got an opportunity to kick out the tax audit from the branch statutory auditors.

 

After the meeting of our learned president Shri Amarjeet Chopra they agreed to give another opportunity to the branch auditors to conduct the tax audit but only for this year. It is quite possible that they do not give the tax audit from next year.

 

 So it is my humble request to the members who are SBI branch auditors to please conduct the tax audit properly & religiously. I hope we prove our ability & quality of work once again.
