The Reader

Google Voice still requires you to have a phone unless you are using the
Google Talk chat feature. If you don't have a landline or have (up to) 4-5
people use it. Makes more sense in an office setting where people rely on
their cell phones but if you don't have a home phone but have an internet
connection you will (theoretically) always have a perfect 5 bar signal for
talk & text.
