[apple-iphone] Re: Linking to home network
As I said, I am rather computer illiterate -- I work on lots of different
computer programs all day but have no ability to change the programs.
The professional actually had me come up with my own user name and password,
and I'm sure I wrote it down somewhere. I could probably figure it out
again.
Oddly, when I try to use You Tube from my Iphone4 at home, the msg says:
"Cannot connect to YouTube." I do get email. I can't download from the App
store unless I'm physically plugged into my computer -- but I can from other
places where I have more bars.
Yet when I go to the Networks setting in my Iphone , it has an IP address,
router, and roadrunner, which is what my connection is. I have no idea how
it got that. I guess I really need a human to look at it. And the guy who
set up the system is no longer available.
Thanks to all for the suggestions, I will follow up.
Carol
One bar is related to your 3G signal. I am sure whoever set up your network
gave
you a paper with the user name and password or the network key.
go to your iphone's setting and look for the "network." In that list choose
your
network's name. If it is not password protected you can use it for surfing,
email or downloading content from the internet. If it is password protected
than
you need to enter the password. Look at the paper that professional gave
you.
good luck...
