[apple-iphone] Re-introduction
I used to be a member of this group, then my AT&T service got so bad I
had to switch to Verizon and lose the iPhone (3G). So since last
November, I've been using a Crapberry Storm2 and missing the iPhone.
I wanted to keep it for use as a Touch, but at that time I needed the
money selling it would provide to cover the cost of switching carriers
and devices.
With the announcement of the 4th gen iPod Touch, the prices for the
3rd gen Touches dropped to the point where I could now justify getting
one to replace my slowly dying hard-drive based iPod (and bday present
to myself). So I'm now expecting my 3rd gen 32gig iPod touch to
arrive in the mail on Tuesday.
It won't be quite the same, as a lot of functionality will only work
where I can access WiFi, but at least then I'll have email that works,
a web browser that works, and always better games, media, and even
productivity apps that don't need a data connection.
My one question at this point is if there would be any benefit to
updating the not-yet-arrived Touch to iOS4 or leave it at iOS3?
