Since you have iOS 4, go to Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendar, and turn ON "Organize by thread.

Other than that - no, I don't think you can get "oldest first".

We all (mostly), want to read older new mail before newer mail; what I do is quickly scroll to the bottom of the new mail, read that message, the (usually, in forum mails) delete it, and the next new mail is presented to me.
