I would turn up Home Sharing, import all files that don't exist on your
laptop from your desktop before you leave then when you get back import all
files that don't exist on desktop from laptop - read the "Home Sharing"
section of iTunes Help (pretty easy, just turn on Home Sharing on both
computers, make sure they are both authorized on your iTunes account(s),
click on other library then select Show: Items that do not exist, select
all, click import.
