Quickest way to determine unlock is to borrow a SIM from a friend who
is not on a carrier that has the iPhone. If you can make calls / get
data, then it's unlocked.
The 32GB being bad because it was made before the 16GB is crap.
Modifying a SIM into a microsim takes some very careful cutting of
plastic. If I had no other options, I guess I'd do it, but I'd be
worried about trimming too much and it not seating correctly and
firmly.

> Hi! Just got back from Singapore last night. The iPhone 4 is available at a few shops in Singapore now! I so longed for one! But they all said so many confusing things, I became unsure of the authenticity! Some of them spoke of the antenna issue, in languages u would not believe! I told them I knew about all that and a bumper/ case would solve the problem! I went to supposed well reputed shops, but none of them got the phone out, when I asked for it, and different shops were asking different prices, at a ridiculous rate! They would go off some where and then come back with the phone! I was asking for 32gb, guess the price for that? $2800! But the man could not show me one! One shop sales man asked $1700, came down to $1500, but then came back with16gb. When I told him, I wanted a 32 and I will pay him what he wants but it has to b officially apple factory unlocked! He told me, don't buy the 32gb, it's bad! Question to that got me, a suspicious answer, he told me, it was the first product and so no good, the 16gb was manufactured after the 32, so better! I became suspicious of the authenticity of the phone plus he had no idea how I could convert, a regular sim into micro sim! So with a heavy heart, I did not buy the phone I so wanted! Got myself, a 32gb 3gs instead! The 3gs, so far is working, but I have not had time to upgrade to ios4 yet! I just got back last night and I still am a bit scared! After the way they behaved, did I really get a apple unlocked phone? How would I know, without risking a permanent lock out! The 3gs cost me $1070. So help if u can please, what do I do now? Did I make the correct decission, not getting the 4? I am so unhappy about this! Could have waited, till next year, to get to Canada, but I just had to have a better iPhone than the one I had! Thanks all!
