Try rebooting your phone twice in rapid succession. Cured the "slowness" on my 3G after I upgraded & I've heard on other forums that it worked for some others.

I agree. Terribly slow on my old 3G. Glad I got a 4. But I would recommend to a 3G owner not to do the upgrade.
