[apple-iphone] Re: Can't find a "great" reason to get iPhone 4 from existing 3GS.

I even have a fondness for its 3MP camera... in certain conditions, it took superior photos to the iP4, in my opinion. The iP4 picks up a lot of low-light detail that the 3GS misses, but it comes at the expense of added grain. The 3GS also had a better auto white balance. Don't get me wrong... I think the new camera is really nice overall, but it does have some pitfalls.

Speed-wise, it's a tossup. The 3GS was pretty fast, so the bump to the new processor isn't as noticeable as it would be if you were coming from a 3G or a V1. Upload speed is very much noticeably faster with the iP4, and that speeds up everything internet on the device.

Now as far as looks and the new screen... the iP4 feels like a huge step forward. It's what the 3GS wanted to be. The black levels, contrast, and overall "pop" of the new screen is the real deal. Not to mention battery life is substantially improved... far and away the best on the market.

Short answer: Yes.
