Re: [apple-iphone] Can't connect away from home...
I think the problem is on the e-mail domain's side. Or both with the phone.
Maybe settings and compatibility issues.
I have that issue with Yahoo! on my Windows Mobile.
It just couldn't get emails using WiFi. But does it good on 3G. (A reversal of your issue, )
But since I have an iPhone to do what the other one couldn't, not much of a problem for me.

Subject: [apple-iphone] Can't connect away from home...
Greetings, all.
I have sporadic problems sending email, and I can't seem to pin it down. All on my main Earthlink account, the nature of the problem has changed over time. At the moment it's this:
I'm unable to send except on my own home Wi-Fi setup. With a strong 3G connection, and regardless of location, I get the dreaded (often inaccurate), "The server rejected open of the recipient's addresses. The message has been placed in your outbox. "
When I send the email, the "Sending" bar at the bottom of the inbox shows up, the message tried futilely to send, and the alert comes up after a minute or two. Just now, I tried to send a test to my own, obviously good address and got the alert.
Any idea what I might do/have done? I have gotten Applecare and can make an appt at the Apple Store, but if there's an easy answer, I'd appreciate hearing it. Thanks much.
Bobbo
