Yup, I did this very same thing moving from an iBook to my new iMac and
everything moved over seamlessly. Migration Assistant is the bomb.
When moving from 10.4 to 10.5 however I found that I could not copy
files from the same account between the two networked systems because of
a User ID conflict in 10.5. I had to do some pushups as superuser and
change my account User ID on my new system and it all worked. Lets hope
that this bug is fixed in Snow Leopard.
