For domestic call I can't remember when I last paid for roaming. International calls to Canada or Mexico is another question. If you do a lot of that, then look at an international plan or use VOIP. VOIP is probably cheaper.

What roaming? You can get a national plan if you are in the US and there are
no roaming charges.

Are you talking about making international calls? You can always call ATT if
you are in the US, and get an international plan specific to your travel
destination, for the duration of your trip.

If you aren't in the US, I'm afraid my answer is of no use to you... sorry.

I know this has been said before,
any way to get around the roaming charges or at least a cheaper way.

I'm talking from the states (Florida) to Puerto Rico, when I will be for a week. How can I do that? Getting one of those plan or how you don't pay for roaming?

It does happen often enough, that I did investigate it. Read my other post and you will see what I found, and a fix. Better yet, you will find what causes it.

iPhone 3GS - Issue with activating contacts sync

Posted by: "lmkarpel80" lmkarpel80@yahoo.com   lmkarpel80

I have a 3GS. I used my work email for everything but since leaving I made a yahoo and Gmail account so I can try to sync my contacts/calendar events through those new accounts. I uploaded my contacts/calendar CSV files into those accounts with no problem. I added those accounts to my iPhone. The issue is the only options shown in settings to sync are mail, calendar, and notes. Why and where would the option be to sync contacts - that is the same for either the Gmail or Yahoo accounts I have on my iPhone.

Thanks

Hello all,

I'm new to this group and a new user of an iPhone 3GS.

I was wondering if anyone is using a software to backup, edit contacts that could point out.
I've searched the internet but didn't find anything useful.

I've used outlook to backup but I wish I could use something else, I just don´t like the idea of mixing my cellphone contacts with my emails.

Regards

Rod

I'm not happy with the way the iPhone syncs with outlook either but for a
different reason. It seems new/updated outlook information makes its way to
the iPhone fine but new/updated iPhone information never finds its way to
outlook.

Does anyone know if Gmail syncs both ways with the iPhone?

I guess I could pay for mobile.me but I'm only interested in syncing
contacts.

Hi, everyone.

I am an iPhone app creator. So far, I have created two excellent iPhone apps. One of them has already been accepted and is Available in the iPhone store now. It's called "Real CID" (learn more at: realcid.com). Real CID enables you to look up the actual Caller ID Name for any telephone number in the US or Canada. It's as if that person is calling you on your land-line, and it shows up on your Caller ID device.

If you're using a cell phone, you already know that all you get is the telephone number of the person calling you. If you have them in your Contacts, then their name will pop up. But, if you don't, you won't know who's calling you.

The reason I joined this group is to learn more about the needs iPhone users have, so maybe I can help create the applications you want, that are not out there yet.

Also, many times I can help with cell phone troubleshooting, because I've had 35 years experience working with the North American telephone network. A lot of times, the problem is not the iPhone (or other cell phone), but the network.

Thanks for your time.

Jerry.
