Mailing an iPhone
Posted by: "Bonnie" bontr33@gmail.com bonnieinthemist

I bought an iPhone 4 and now I wish to mail my old iPhone 3G to my son
for him to use as an iPod Touch.
The Post Office says the safe way to mail is to remove batteries from gadgets.
My question is does the no-battery rule pertain to iPhones?
Do you think the Post Office will allow an iPhone to go through their
mail system?

I don't see where that would be a problem. iPhones as well as as other
cell phones are mailed out by many carriers and providers all of the time.

Yes you can just mail it. These things travel the world with batteries in them everyday.

In addition, iPhone's battery is soldered. It cannot be removed...hence, safe to ship

4G iPhone coming to Verizon after Christmas?

There are now rumors of an LTE capable iPhone in the hands of Verizon to be
released after Christmas.
Sounds hopeful and promising.

Yeah...I read that in the wall street journal too. It was wrapped around an
article that AT&T service in NYC was 3rd...
2nd (believe it or not) Verizon....and 1st...(this stumped me) Sprint.
But this is NYC market data

LTE stands for Long-Term Evolution.
It is based on a standard called 3GPP Release 8.
It is considered a 4G technology because it is faster than 3G and entirely
IP-based, where voice is treated as data.

There are many times in life when a do-over can come in handy. Perhaps
you clicked "Send" on an email that was better left unsaid, or "Delete"
on a contact before realizing you still needed it. Just like Gmail lets
you unsend a message, you can now have a second chance with your
contacts too.
We've added a new feature to Google Contacts that allows you to revert
your contact list and undo any mistakes made up to 30 days in the past.
Let's say you accidentally deleted a bunch of contacts or wiped the
contact data from your Gmail account by mistake while syncing to
another device. Visit Gmail's Contacts section, select "Restore
contacts" in the "More actions" menu, and choose the time you would
like to revert to.
Your contacts will be restored to exactly the same state they were in
at that time — any contacts that didn't exist then will be deleted and
any that have since been added will be deleted. Don't worry, you can
always undo this change by restoring again if you didn't get the time
right.
Things you can do from here:
- Subscribe to Gmail Blog using Google Reader

If you are looking at the front of your phone (home page), the sound
normally only comes out of the bottom left speaker to begin with. For
instance, if I cover the hole on the bottom, just left of the place I
plug in my phone to charge, the sound is muted.
Are you sure that you're not just now noticing that sound only
(normally) comes out of one speaker/hole?

left speaker on the phone has gone out. Even if I hook my phone up to an
outside source the left side is not working. I was hoping it would be my
earbuds but they are fine. Can this be repaired or am I down to the
right side only for speakers.

iPhone 3GS Software 4.2.1
I know there is a way to slide the four icons at the bottom of the home screen to show icons for the most recently used programs. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
Thanks... Bob
