It also deletes the offending mails if you do a soft reset.

On the message screen, tap messages in the upper left corner and then select
the message you want to read. The keyboard will not pop up unless you tap
the write symbol in the upper right of the screen.l

3G .......no multitasking, right?

Posted by: "jparkerg@yahoo.com" jparkerg@yahoo.com   jparkerg

We subbed an out-of-service 3G for a broken screen 3GS, but now we're noticing some anomalies, or at least some observations that don't seem to make sense.
Is it true that the 3G does not have multitasking?

On my iPhone 4 and the broken screen 3Gs, Settings>General includes "Spotlight Search".
On the 3G "Home Button" appears.

Granted it's been awhile since we've used the 3G, but all of the phones are running 4.2.1.

So, do we have it right, i.e. no multitasking and the Spotlight vs. Home Button?

TIA,

John

There for open your Window Exployer up, look for iPhone and copy and paste.

iPhone as a Book Reader

I am a rookie. iPhone 3GS OS4. I managed to successfully download a book from the web however it went to my computer rather than to my iPhone. The download installed a program (on the computer) called Adobe Digital Editions to act as a reader. I see no way to transfer it to my iPhone. Help please.

Thanks in advance... Bob

OT Best Buy nixes restocking fees

Posted by: "Bill Boulware" bill.boulware@gmail.com   boulware0224

This is slightly OT but it is like a Christmas Miracle - think of all
of the Macs / iPads / Tablets / Phones, etc people will buy to try and
likely end up keeping when they know that it won't cost them $10-$300
to return if they don't want it...

Sent to you by Bill Boulware via Google Reader: Best Buy nixes
restocking fees via Engadget by Sean Hollister on 12/19/10
With just five days left for Christmas shopping, Best Buy has enacted a
most welcome plan to get you in the door -- effective immediately, it's
abolished the infamous 15 percent restocking fee that the company
traditionally charged for a wide variety of product returns. The
Consumerist reports that computers, tablets, projectors, camcorders,
digital cameras, radar detectors, GPS units, in-car video systems and
audio equipment will no longer carry the fee, and that iPhones (which
incurred a 10 percent restocking fee) are exempt as well. Only special
orders will still carry the charge. What's more, the company will
allegedly refund any such fees charged since November 17th. Bravo!

You need to log out of iTunes Store first (Store > Sign Out) then sign into
his account (Store > Sign In) and probably authorize your computer on his
account (Store > Authorize Computer) then do his phone. Once you are
finished, you can do Store > Deauthorize Computer and Store > Sign Out to
take his account off of your computer and then do Store > Sign In to sign
back into your normal account.

I need help. Every time I synced my iPhone the phone key pad disappears rendering my cell useless. I can only dial out of my text messages using the contacts there.

Restores works as long as I do not synced the iPhone

iTunes problem

Posted by: "Micki Rasing" pondluvr@yahoo.com   pondluvr

Mon Dec 20, 2010 3:05 am (PST)

I tried to start iTunes tonight; got an exception message that it was missing files & needs to be re-installed.

Do I need to copy my music library & re-name the copied file? I'm concerned the re-install will wipe it out.

**I do not have the latest itunes software installed. Will this cause problems in the first sync? I have both an iPad & iPhone 3GS.

Micki
