To back up phone, data on phone, etc - you have to plug it into iTunes at
least once to activate it (can be done in store) but if you sync your data
over the air (MMe, Google, Exchange) and have WiFi access occasionally to
download the larger Apps, media files (3G still has a 20MB limit).
