RE: [apple-iphone] Dragon dictation app

Calling was not my issue. Yes....$25 was a deal. But it was the Data that knocked me out of the park.

I know that when I called AT&T...they calculated that one week in Jamaica based on my normal US usage would have been over $1000.00

Maybe it is different pricing per country?

Thanks

Bill

When I went internationally, I called AT&T before hand and told them where I was going and I needed a plan in that country for the duration of my trip My bill did increase about 25.00 that month (I went to Egypt) but that was a small price to pay to be able to be in contact with people when I needed to be. Now I also wasn't talking/texting like I do at home, but I liked the security of having my phone with me and available for me to use.

Yes...you will need a 2nd and 3rd mortgage if you have an iphone internationally.

Here is what I do:

I turn airplane mode on
I turn wifi on
I use skype via wifi

Issue for me is....I like to use my phone/laptop when I want to. Not when I go to a café or hotspot. So I sometimes get charged for day rates for wifi use at a hotel.

But still....far FAR cheaper than normal usage on the iphone.

Thanks

Bill

I shall be in italy for two weeks in June. How do I avoid roaming
charges? Also can I buy a local sim card and use it for my iPhone
which isn't jailbroken. It's the new 3gs.
