Hi all,

I have a friend who has had a free Hotmail account forever. She now has a new iPhone. She would like to move from Hotmail to Gmail for the IMAP advantages. I know how to set up GMail for IMAP on the iPhone and even use Bill's modifications. My question is if it's possible to get emails heading to her old Hotmail account to go to GMail automatically? It is my understanding that the free versions of Hotmail won't auto forward. Can one use the POP3 fetch in Gmail to pull from Hotmail? Or is there another option? Or can Hotmail auto-forward and I have bad info? Or at the very least, can Hotmail do an auto response or vacation response to the sender informing them of her new email address so they can update their system and send it to the right email address.

I know this is a bit off topic, but it all came about because of a new iPhone purchase.
