The iPhone is HTML5 compliant. The web sites must be written in HTML5 for
them to work properly.
Safari, Chrome, and Firefox are also ready for HTML5.

There was talk on here about a replacement for flash or something like
that. has anyone heard any news of that fact?
It went a something like this.
The iPhone 3GS (and V3 to an extent) and Mobile Safari was the boom of
HTML5 which is the replacement for Flash - It is what Youtube started
encoding their videos in specifically for Apple / iPhone and you can turn it
on for ALL of Youtube if you use Safari or Chrome by going to youtube.com
youtube.com/
computer than Flash does and it is where 'good' web design is headed and
Apple seems to be leading the march by insisting it be used instead of Flash
across all of their devices.

I don't think it's likely any time soon, given the disagreements between
Apple and Adobe. Google Flash and iPhone and you'll see plenty of
coverage
of the 'feud'.
