The iPhone 3GS (and V3 to an extent) and Mobile Safari was the boom of HTML5
which is the replacement for Flash - It is what Youtube started encoding
their videos in specifically for Apple / iPhone and you can turn it on for
ALL of Youtube if you use Safari or Chrome by going to youtube.com/html5 and
click "Join the Beta" -

HTML5 uses a fraction of the processor and GPU power needed on a device or a
computer than Flash does and it is where 'good' web design is headed and
Apple seems to be leading the march by insisting it be used instead of Flash
across all of their devices.
