No you don't - in Photos, tap the box with the curved arrow in the
lower left corner tap up to 5 (for MMS) then tap Share and tap MMS.
If you want/need to send more than 5 or want to e-mail etc, tap the
box/arrow tap as many as you want (within reason) and tap Copy then
press home, then Messages app, then in the body of the message single
tap then tap paste.
