I too having problems with iTunes. The music files in iTunes appeared as separate album after importing them from my hdd. I have double checked and confirmed the mp3 tags are same and correct. Anyone has solution to this?

The following works on my XP box and Win7 box

Instead of Unstalling iTunes ---- (shit program it is) try to temporary rename the folder(s), this will save you time if you are having issues with the program ITUNES.

iTUNES USER FILES.

**** \ Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\ ****
temporary disable folders by renaming the folder ie. \Podcasts-old

C:\Users\---YOURPROFILE---\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications

IPA APPS - ie APPSTORE files.
ie. appplications -- /Mobile Applications/ ( find the applications folder and rename)

PODCAST
ie. podcast -- ( \Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Podcasts\ )

SYSTEM LOCATION

---YOURPROFILE---
----LOCAL/Roaming----

ALL FOLDER ARE WITHIN THE "Smapple Comuter" folder, this will give you a start as in a new itunes INSTALL.

C:\Users\---YOURPROFILE---\AppData\----LOCAL/Roaming----\Apple Computer

BACKUP

ie. backups - C:\Users\---YOURPROFILE---\AppData\----LOCAL/Roaming----\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

***** note: the "APPDATE" may be a hidden directory ****
