Good to here, I was going to pick one up this weekend but I have a really
sick dog and he comes before Apple toys.

Word from a friend here in the States (Georgia) that they waited in line for
10 hours (!) and still were able to get a phone on launch day. That is a
whole bunch of phones to have in stock, indeed!

While not directly connected to iphone discussions, the Apple Magic Trackpad made its appearance at our house today and was an immediate hit.
My wife is a graphic designer and she describes the new device as amazingly intuitive.
While she is tech savvy, she is not a geek.

Imagine the on-screen controls that we're used to on the iPhone (pinch, zoom, scroll, etc) -- then multiply them to total twelve discrete finger controls. It seems to replace the mouse almost entirely.
It's pretty cool!

1. Yes, you can turn Wifi back on.

2. However, Airplane Mode also disables GPS. An alternate solution to prevent cellular connectivity ONLY would be to remove the SIM card.
