On the other hand, it depends very much on who needs/uses what in MobileMe. In my 3-iPhone household, only I use MM very much, so we still have just a single plan. My wife and I sync contacts and calendars and bookmarks to the single account; only I use MM mail sync; and the 3rd phone only makes use of Find My iPhone.
