Happy New Year Everyone!

I purchased Mobile Me with my new Macbook. I have heard so much about it
here in this group and I would like to know what people find most useful
about it and why they use it. If I start using that for my mail, will I have
a new email address or will I still be able to use my gmail account? I
understand that it is like working in the "cloud", but I am not real clear
on how that works.
